Hunter Dies After A Bear He Shot In A Tree Falls On Him.

There are many differing views on hunting, but I believe we can all agree that life is valuable, whether it belongs to a wild creature or a person.

In Virginia, a father of five went on a hunting expedition and ended up shooting a bear. Tragically, in a story that seems almost too shocking to be true, he lost his life due to this event, leaving behind his five children and wife.

Hunter Dies After A Bear He Shot In A Tree Falls On Him. The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources has provided information regarding the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. Reports indicate that he was part of a hunting group that pursued a bear up a tree.

Lester C. Harvey Jr., 58, from Phoenix, Virginia, was among the hunters gathered around the tree, looking up at the bear. They made the decision to step back and take a shot at the animal. Harvey Jr. was positioned about 10 feet from the base of the tree when they aimed and fired.

Although he believed he was at a safe distance, the bear fell on him after being shot. One of his fellow hunters tried to administer first aid until emergency services arrived, but he was reported to be in ‘serious but stable condition’ when help reached him.

Harvey Jr. was taken to a hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries a few days later. His obituary described him as a ‘self-employed contractor and passionate outdoorsman who was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger.’

He is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, and eight grandchildren. Hunter Dies After A Bear He Shot In A Tree Falls On Him.
